JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of Crisis Program Manager, provides to clients with, appropriate care, and a safe, healthful environment. Responsibilities include supervising clients’ residential environment and providing services as required in clients’ individual recovery plans, such as meal planning, skills training, recreational activities, transportation, and family contact. Performs moderately complex rehabilitative client care work with individuals who have mental illness in a crisis respite environment. Work involves ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. Assisting residents as required. It also includes cooking and cleaning of the facility, supervising medicine intake and other duties as assigned. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This is a part-time position designed to work no more than 29 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience in direct care of individuals with mental illness is preferred. Must possess or have ability to acquire through staff training a good working knowledge of procedures pertaining to: client rights; abuse and neglect; including individual program plans and individual recovery plans. Must possess or be able to acquire competency in: first aid; CPR; food preparation and supervision of self-administration of medications. A valid Texas driver’s license, a good driving record and a valid auto insurance card is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead.
