JOB FUNCTIONS: Under supervision of the Youth Services Coordinator, provides ongoing case management services and rehabilitation services for youth with mental illness. Coordinates and provides services. Demonstrates a positive role model to youth and advocates on their and their families’ behalves. Responsible for coordination, planning and implementation of the recovery plan. Voluntary on-call during evening and weekend hours available. Position will be expected to maintain 60% of work time in direct client contact.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of youth issues in a rural setting. Ability to network with schools, juvenile probation and other social service agencies to facilitate services for youth. Ability to communicate with youth and their families to promote compliance with recovery plans. Must be able to work independently and remain flexible to solve problems and crisis. Knowledge and ability to perform basic computer skills a necessity.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university. Masters degree preferred. Two years direct experience with mentally ill youth in a community setting is preferred. No professional license is required. QMHP-CS status is necessary. A valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead.
